Last Chance To Register For Flooding Symposium

Event will address responding to, and planning for, flooding events.

Tuesday is the last day residents can register for the flooding symposium at William Paterson University. 

Attendees must register online in order to go to the symposium. Walk-ins will not be admittted.

Local, state, and federal officials will discuss the impact flooding has in the county and how they plan on responding to flooding in the future at the event.

The symposium will be held at William Paterson on May 2 from 5 to 9 p.m.

A short film, “Flooding and the Impact on Business and Residents” will be shown at 6 p.m.; Jeffrey Hoffman, chief of water supply modeling and planning with the state’s Department of Environmental Protection, will speak at 6:10 p.m.

Two panel discussions will be held at 6:45 and 7:45 p.m.

The first group will discuss planning and responding to flood events.

The second panel of state and local officials will discuss what municipalities and the state are doing to plan for, and respond to, flood events.
