'Housewives' Recap: Giudice, Gorga Bust a Move at Beatstock

Husbands talk about taming their wives on upcoming Napa Valley trip.

Kathy Wakile once again explored the idea of launching a dessert business on this week's "Real Housewives of New Jersey". She and husband Rich traveled to Paterson, Wakile's hometown, to visit Sal, the owner of an ice cream shop where Kathy’s sister Rosie Pierri once worked.

“Sometimes when you go back to where you came from, it triggers something really inspirational inside of you,” Wakile said.

But the Giudices and Gorga were at the center of this week's episode. The Lauritas and Manzos set out for Washington, D.C. while the Wakiles explored business opportunities and supported members of the Gorga and Giudice families at Beatstock.

Eleven-year-old Gia Giudice and her aunt Melissa Gorga prepared to perform at Beatstock in Farmingville, N.Y. Gia trained for a “slow hiphop” routine in Pear Studios NYC, while Gorga’s husband, Joe, flew choreographer Chris Judd to Montville help her create a dance routine for her new song “Rockstar.”

“There’s something about having that stage presence, like Gia,” Gorga said. “I know I’m not the best singer in the world but I really think it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there and show people what you get when you know you’re not perfect.”

Gorga and Giudice seemed genuinely supportive of each other, for the most part. During practice, when Giudice was asked where she gets her talent from, she said “my aunt.”

However, when she found out from her mother’s makeup artist that Gorga would perform at Beatstock, Giudice repeatedly said, “She’s probably going to lip sync.”

Gorga tweeted Sunday evening that she does sing to a track when doing a lot of choreography.

Milania Giudice, by far the most outspoken of Teresa Giudice’s four girls, was less kind.

“Melissa stinks,” she said.

Beatstock happens to be the same day as the Gorgas' seventh wedding anniversary, and Joe Gorga’s always-ravenous sex drive was even more so in the days leading up to the big show.

“The key to a successful marriage is having sex every single day,” Melissa Gorga said.

Joe Gorga was clearly not shy about disrobing in front of Melissa Gorga’s staff and the cameras and only stopped when he was interrupted by his 6-year-old daughter Antonia.

He managed to keep his mouth off of Gorga’s toes long enough for them to join the Giudices and Wakiles in watching Giudice’s show. The highlight was Joe Giudice actually shedding tears while watching his daughter on stage.

“After watching Gia, I’m impressed, but now I’m a nervous wreck,” Gorga said. “I don’t want to embarrass myself.”

Her show also went off without a hitch, and everyone seemed ecstatic.

“My wife’s voice has come a long way,” Joe Gorga said. “I tell her all the time:  The more practice we have in the bedroom, the better.”

The relationship between the Giudices and Gorgas seemed to have improved. They speak excitedly of their upcoming trip to Napa Valley with the Wakile, Manzo and Laurita families.

The Manzos and Lauritas were unable to come to Beatstock because they went to the Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C. The Manzo boys, Chris and Albie, along with their uncle, Chris Laurita, cousin, Joey, roommate Greg Bennett, and friend went to display . Albert Manzo also premiered Brownstone Sauce, a pasta sauce named after his catering hall in Paterson.

“My dad doesn’t have a booth,” Chris Manzo said. “He has a couple of little signs. My whole life it was what’s dad doing and how can we do it as well as him? Now the tables have kind of turned…That’s hilarious to me.”

Chris Laurita attempted to keep the guys focused on business at the convention.

“It’s very frustrating,” Laurita said. “We have serious business to take care of…I’ve been in business with family that didn’t work out for one reason or another [if] someone’s not pulling their weight.”

Despite the events keeping them busy this week, all of the castmates are preparing, mentally, for the trip to Napa Valley.

“Do I really want to go away with Jacqueline? No. Do I want to go away with Caroline? No,” Teresa said. “But this vacation isn’t really about them. It’s about going away with Joe and Melissa.”

Meanwhile, Chris Laurita asked brother-in-law Albert Manzo if he will come to a meeting of the husbands to make sure that the drama between the wives does not affect the overall trip. Often elusive and almost always silent, Manzo refused to go.

“What good is going to come from engaging Joe Giudice in any topic?” Manzo asked. “It makes me stupid.”

It appears we have to wait at least one more week for the Napa trip to get started, as next week’s preview showed Wakile and Giudice getting into their first confrontation of the season.

The show airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
