Monhegan Avenue Home Burglarized

Jewelry and $500 was stolen from a Monhegan Avenue residence Monday, Wayne Police said.

A jewelry box containing a diamond necklace with a heart-shaped pendant, a pair of diamond-studded earrings, an oval sapphire necklace with diamonds, and a sapphire ring with diamonds, the wife of the homeowner reported.

Board Trustee Responds to Resignation Rumors

Board of Education trustee Robyn Kingston addressed rumors Thursday night that she would resign her board seat this year.

A resident asked Kingston if she was going to resign her seat and move soon.

“When I decide to share that information and when we decide to move then I may share it with you. I ask you to respect my privacy,” Kingston replied to the question.

Students Help Give Their Peers a ‘Real’ Dose of Drugs

Dozens of parents and children learned the consequences of taking drugs and just how easily they can be obtained at the Reality Tour at Wayne Valley High School Wednesday.

The Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse sponsored the annual event.

New Social Media Policy Adopted

A new policy outlining the appropriate use of social media by school district employees was approved by the Board of Education Thursday.

The policy covers all social media sites and applications, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Google+.

Candidates Begin Election Push

Five candidates kicked off their bid for election and re-election to the Board of Education at a public forum sponsored by the Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organizations.
