High School Students Nominated for V Awards

Categories include Best Feature and Best Full-Game Production.

Several Wayne High Schools students are nominees for MSG Varsity’s second annual V Awards.

The awards are designed to foster the next generation of broadcast professionals by recognizing excellence in student-produced content for television.

The following students were nominated for awards:

Best Editing

Wayne Hills High School: Matthew Trainor for “Snooze.”

Wayne Valley High School: Michael Sheptock for “Bhargav Maheta: A Running Miracle.”

Best Full-Game Production

Wayne Hills High School: Nick Appaluccio, Mike Beltramba, Paul Gabbieneilli, Jon Giardiello, Alex Green, Ryan Kattine, Josh Mordkoff, Joe Rapp, Anthony Scudillo, and John Vittas for “Wayne Hills vs. High Point Football.”

Best Original Production (Viewer’s Choice)

Best Play-by-Play or Color Commentator

Wayne Hills High School: Anthony Scudillo.

Wayne Hills High School: John Vittas.

Viewers can choose the recipient of the Best Original Production award by visiting www.msgvarsity.com/vawards.

“The creativity and passion that went into the more than 3,600 submissions made narrowing the field extremely difficult,” said Theresa Chillianis, general manager of MSG Varsity.

MSG Varsity is dedicated to high school sports, academics, and activities happening throughout the tri-state area. The V Awards are being presented in conjunction with the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The winners will be announced May 10 at 7:30 p.m. on MSG Varsity, iO TV channel 14.

Winning high schools will receive a $5,000 grant. Winning students will receive a trophy.
