Get Out: A 12-Hour Outdoor Adventure Race Begins in West Milford
Also on deck this weekend are: Jim Breuer, a wine tasting and photography exhibit.
The sixth annual Shag Adventure Race is set to kick off this weekend in West Milford.
Solo competitors and teams of two to four people will tackle the woods, wilds and waters of the North Jersey Highlands in this will-testing, adrenaline-packed all-terrain race.
The exact venue and locations were kept secret until a few weeks ago to ensure that competitors wouldn't gain a competitive edge by heading over to the site early and learn the course.

The event will begin in the NJ Transit parking lot on Greenwood Lake Turnpike. The 12-hour race will begin at 7 a.m. on Greenwood Lake Turnpike at the NJ Transit Parking Lot. Click here to see a course map and get directions to the start venue.
The course design this year features a modified “rogaine” format, which will allow teams to collect optional checkpoints at their discretion. The team with the most points at the end of the race will be the winners.

With trail running, trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and land navigation, this race looks to be as entertaining as it is difficult.
