Olsen’s son T.J. was born in October with hypolastic left heart syndrome. The condition prohibits blood from flowing normally through the heart. He was diagnosed with the condition while in vitro. He has undergone two of three surgeries he’s required to have before he turns 3.

Olsen and his wife recently donated $289,000 through his Receptions for Research foundation to Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte to help families of pediatric heart patients pay for medical costs after bringing their child home.
