Fate of Controversial Application Could Be Decided Monday

Residents concerned that controversial decision could set a bad precedent for lake-front neighborhood.

An application to subdivide a Pines Lake property into two lots could be decided at a Planning Board meeting Monday.

Frederick and Barbara Habeeb want to sub-divide their 30,000 square-foot lake-front property on Pines Lake Drive East into two lots: one measuring about 15,800 square feet, the other about 14,500 square feet.

Testimony in the matter was heard at a board meeting earlier this month.

Residents expressed concern at the meeting that having two smaller lots so close to the lake sets a bad precedent despite the fact that most the properties on the street are approximately the same size.

The Pines Lake community is a private neighborhood around Pines Lake.

The meeting will be held in the council chamber in the municipal complex beginning at 7:30 p.m. and broadcast live online and on cable channel 77.

Guess the concerned residents haven't driven around the lake lately. They are sticking houses on lots half the size of what they want to with their lot.GOOD LUCK HABEEBS.

Some Pines Lakers think that anything that they dont like should be illegal...there is a certain sense of entitlement, ESPECIALLY for new Pines Lakers. Families that have been there 25 years or more are a little more tolerant of change, but the new money people are stuck-up. On facebook there is a pines lake group, and a BIG crybaby whining over the sound of leafblowers. How is this going to adversly affect their way of life if this family splits 1 lot? It's not like if this is allowed, every owner on the lake is going to knock down their home to split the lot.

Chris, the crybaby would be the first to complain to the town if his neighbor didn't pick up his leaves in a timely manner. REMEMBER, you can't get ESPECIALLY if you weren't SPECIAL !!!!
