Family Fun Day to be Held at Laurelwood Arboretum

Tour of part of nature preserve and a scavenger hunt for kids will be held April 21.

A Family Fun Day will be held at Laurelwood Arboretum on Sunday, April 21 in celebration of Earth Day.

A tour of the arboretum’s spring flowering area and a children’s scavenger hunt will be held.

Laurelwood Arboretum is a nature preserve that contains all kinds of different trees, bushes, shrubs, and flowers, including rhododendrons and azaleas. The 30-acre property has several walking paths and a sensory garden that opened last year.

Guest speakers also give presentation on nature-related topics, including butterflies, herbs, and plants.

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum (FOLA), a non-profit composed of volunteers, works with the town to preserve and beautify the property. FOLA memberships start at $25.
