Families Go Trunk and Treating

Board of Education hosts event because of power outages, safety concerns.

Dozens of kids walked around and scooped up candy by the handful at a special Trunk or Treating event at Wayne Valley High School Monday night.

Kids walked around with their parents and friends as the sun set. Dozens of parents handed out candy from the back of the vehicles adorned with Halloween decorations.

The board of education put on the event due to safety concerns associated with the recent storm. Trustees were concerned for students' safety because of the hundreds of tree limbs that still litter the streets and power outages that continue to plague parts of the township.
