Community Garden Plots Still Available to Rent

Residents need to pay $60 to use a plot to grow flowers, vegetables, and herbs.

Plots are still available to rent in the Wayne Community Garden.

Each 35 square-foot plot costs $60 to rent for the year.

Plots are raised beds of soil in a fenced-in area at the Van Riper Hopper House museum.

Residents can plant vegetables, flowers, or herbs in their plot. Residents may not use pesticides.  A committee of residents has overseen the project and constructed the garden.

Victor Alfieri, a sustainability advocate who is running for a seat on the council in this year’s election, spearheaded the project.
