Chrysanthemums will be Available to Purchase at Fall Plant Sale

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum will give tours of facility.

Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum (FOLA) will host its annual fall plant sale on the grounds of the Arboretum at 725 Pines Lake Drive West, on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year’s sale will feature large chrysanthemum and a selection of perennials grown by FOLA volunteers from the Arboretum’s specimens will be available to purchase.

FOLA volunteers will offer tours of the Arboretum from noon until 1 p.m.. A cart will be available for those who find it difficult to walk the garden paths.

“With the care and attention of our horticultural staff, our many volunteers and the assistance of Wayne Township, we have been able to maintain Laurelwood as a place of natural beauty, enjoyment, and tranquility for everyone,” said Jim McHugh, FOLA’s president. “Visitors from all around New Jersey have come to the Arboretum throughout the summer to walk its lovely paths and enjoy the lush foliage and special plantings.”

FOLA, which has more than 250 members, has contributed more than 10,000 hours this year to help maintain the Arboretum.

Laurelwood Arboretum is open to the public from dawn to dusk. Admission to the fall plant sale is free. FOLA membership costs $25. For more information about membership, call or e-mail the phone number or e-mail address listed above.
