Board Hires Assistant Principals of Elementary Schools

Moves were made as part of a district-wide restructuring of administrators. Wayne Hills assistant principal promoted to principal of Wayne Valley High School.

Various administrative positions were filled at the last Board of Education meeting.

The three shared elementary school principals were hired and a new Wayne Valley High School Principal was hired.

Steven Hagemann Donna Shelichach, and Donna Reichman will begin their tenure as assistant elementary school principals later this year. It has not been determined what schools each of the three administrators will work at yet.

Shelichach is the district’s supervisor of special services for both elementary and secondary grades. Reichman is a Gifted and Talented teacher.

Hagemann and Shelichach will start at their new positions July 1; Reichman will begin Aug. 15.

Hagemann’s annual salary will be $104,500. Schelichach’s will earn $114,200. Reichman will earn $107,600, which is pro-rated. All three have master’s degrees.

The three positions were created as part of a sweeping reorganization of the district’s administrative structure the Board approved in April. Thirteen supervisor positions were eliminated and replaced with nine assistant principals. Two assistant principals will be shared between the three middle schools and four between the two high schools.

Officials made the moves to “streamline coordination, communication, and accountability within the district.”

In related news, Kenneth Palczewski, a vice principal at Wayne Hills High School, was hired to replace outgoing Wayne Valley High School principal Robert Reis.

Palczewski will begin working at Valley Aug. 1.
