Blood Drives Will Be Held Aug. 22

Wayne Interfaith Network sponsoring events. Donors should be between 16 and 76 years old.

The Wayne Interfaith Network (WIN) is sponsoring two blood drives on Aug. 22:

, 2 to 8 p.m.

, 1 to 7 p.m.

Donors must be in good health, between 16 and 75 years old, and weigh more than 110 pounds.

WIN is a group of houses of worship in Wayne that host charity and philanthropic events on a regular basis.

According to the state Department of Health and Senior Services, only 3.6 percent of eligible people in New Jersey donate blood on a regular basis, compared to 5 percent nationwide.

Donors 16 years old and younger need their parents written permission; donors 76 years old need a doctor’s written permission.
