Bank Hosting Annual Cancer Walk Oct. 6

Event raises money for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.

The fourth annual Valley Goes Pink charity walk will be held Saturday, Oct. 6.

Valley National Bank (VBN), which is headquartered in Wayne, sponsors the walk.

The event raises money for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF), a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for Breast Cancer. The CBCF support the research department at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The previous walks raised more than $300,000, including more than $100,000 last year.

“We hope to raise more money for this worthy cause this year,” said Valley’s Chairman Gerald Lipkin.

Registration costs $10, which includes a T-shirt. Weatherman “Mr. G” is scheduled to attend. The rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 7. The walk will begin at the VBN building on Valley Road.

VBN operates 211 branches in 147 municipalities throughout New York and North and Central Jersey.
