Are You Fed Up With Flooding?

Floodwaters close Route 23 — again.

Floodwaters affected local travel this weekend as parts of Route 23 were closed. The parking lot at the A&Pin Pompton Plains was covered with water. Exit ramps and jug-handles were blocked off with traffic cones and signs.

The Passaic River at Little Falls was reported at more than 8 feet high; flood stage for the river there is seven feet.

Little Falls Flood Board will hold an informational Flood Meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Little Falls Civic Center. Congressman Bill Pascrell and Assemblyman Scott Rumana are expected to attend. Rumana is expected to explain the latest information on the results of the Governor’s Commission report on area flooding and how to alleviate it.
