Alleged Rinas Shooter Pleads Not Guilty at Arraignment

Quashon Faircloth, 27, charged with felony murder, murder and robbery.

Quashon Faircloth, 27, pleaded not guilty at arraignment Tuesday to felony murder, murder, robbery and weapons charges, NorthJersey.com reported Wednesday.

State Superior Court Assignment Judge Donald Volkert referred the case to a grand jury, the website reported. Faircloth’s bond remained at $2 million with a cash-only option.

Faircloth is accused of murdering Wayne resident Isaac Rinas, 18, mere hours after he graduated from Wayne Valley High School June 26.

Rinas and former classmate Casey Cole, 18, went into Paterson after the graduation ceremony so Rinas could purchase a handgun, police said. Authorities allege that Cole and Bishma Cowan set up Rinas to be robbed of the $350 he had on him to purchase a gun.

Authorities said Tuesday they are not sure why Rinas wanted to buy a gun.

Faircloth shot Rinas once in the neck as he exited the vehicle, police said.

Both Faircloth and Cowan have extensive criminal histories, NorthJersey.com reported.
