9/11 Memorial Ceremony Held at Public Safety Academy

Event was rescheduled due to flooding.

On Sept. 21, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders held a memorial ceremony to remember the victims from Passaic County of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Of the 31 people from Passaic County who died, seven were from Wayne.

Near the end of the ceremony, Freeholder Bruce James unveiled a 3-foot piece of steel from the World Trade Center that was given to the Township for public display. It will stay in the Passaic County Community College Public Safety Academy for Public viewing.
