Our Lady of the Lake Brownie Troop Visits Animal Shelter

The Wayne Township Animal Shelter was very happy to have Troop 20793 visit our facility and so glad to see their passion and love for animals.

On Saturday, May 19, the Wayne Township Animal Shelter welcomed six members of the Our Lady of the Lake Brownie Troop 20793 to take a tour of the shelter and give them the opportunity to meet many of our furry friends and shelter employees and volunteers as well.  The girls arrived with very generous donations of food, toys, cleaning supplies and even a monetary contribution as well, which was greatly appreciated by the shelter.

The troop got to see our kitten room, meet & greet room, office, cat room and they even assisted with filling food bowls and treats for our dogs in the kitchen area.  They each got the opportunity to meet Lady, our extremely friendly Maltese, up close and personal as she gave them all kisses to show her appreciation.

Two of our shelter volunteers, Spencer Dietz and Barb Canfield, had the pleasure of escorting the troop around the shelter, answering their questions and listening to the girl’s personal experiences with pet ownership and some of their own funny furry stories.

One of the Brownie’s even exclaimed at the end of the tour, “This was the best field trip ever!” and they all left the shelter with smiles on their faces.  The Wayne Township Animal Shelter was very happy to have Troop 20793 visit our facility and so glad to see their passion and love for animals.  We really enjoyed their enthusiasm and hope we’ve inspired them be future responsible pet owners and to adopt their next furry family member!

Check out the link below to see the many loveable furry friends awaiting adoption at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter!  Many of these animals have very sad stories of abandonment and have been waiting at the shelter for a long time, but they still hold out hope for a second chance to get out of their shelter cage one day.  At the Wayne Township Animal Shelter we are committed to finding our dogs and cats loving forever homes which means matching them with the right owner.
