Our Featured Adoptable Pet: Monty

Monty was abandoned at a supermarket parking lot just because he wasn't perfect. He needs someone with a big heart to give him a chance and show him unconditional love.

I’d like to introduce myself to you!  My name is Monty and I was found abandoned in a cat carrier at a local supermarket parking lot.

I’ve got a slight eye ailment and a neurological issue which is probably why my owner abandoned me.  I was really confused and sad because I thought that love was supposed to be forever, but I guess some people just give up when things aren’t perfect.  At first I was really scared being in a strange place, couldn’t understand why I was in a cage and was really sad that I no longer had a home after years of being an adored family pet.

I’ve always been a well-behaved kitty and showed my family how much I loved them, but they just left me behind like I didn’t matter anymore.  But, thankfully I’ve been given a second chance at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter, and my only option is to wait patiently, as I have for a very long time, and hope that someone sees beyond my minor ailments and realize that I would make a great pet.

I’m very affectionate, have a sweet and mellow personality and I’m playful too!  I just need someone to realize that my minor ailments won’t prevent me from loving them and being a great pet, and hopefully I can find someone with a big heart to give me a chance.

I still hold out hope that someone might love me one day and I watch the door carefully every time someone comes in to visit and think that maybe this time its going to be the person that I’ve been waiting for to take me with them.

The only thing I want is to experience lasting love in a forever home with someone that is kind and understanding and won’t just toss me out in the cold like I’m trash.  Please come to meet me and maybe you can be my long awaited forever home!

When I see you come through the door, I promise if you just stop at my cage for awhile you’ll love me, but not as much as I’ll love you for rescuing me from my shelter cage and giving me a second chance.
