Our Featured Adoptable Pet: Bishop!

Bishop is an older fellow and unfortunately sometimes is overlooked because of this. Do you have room in your heart to show Bishop love that lasts and a home that he can call his own forever?

FEATURED ADOPTABLE PET AT THE WAYNE TOWNSHIP ANIMAL SHELTER: BISHOP

MY STORY:

I’d like to introduce myself to you!  My name is Bishop and I have a sweet personality and love cuddling and being affectionate.  I’m an older guy, and would be best in a home without children, but that doesn’t mean I can’t love you just as much as a young pup can!  I was found roaming the streets where I was scared and cold, but thankfully I was given a second chance at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter.  I’m still waiting here for someone to notice me just once and think that maybe I’m worth giving a chance.

All the shelter staff and volunteers love me and say that I would make the perfect pet, but because I’m an adult dog this could be why I’m not appreciated by people as much as I deserve to be.  They do their best to comfort me and love me and tell me there is no reason for a good dog like me to still be waiting here for a home, but I still feel sad because all I know how to do is wait and hope to be able to feel love in a forever home, not in a shelter.  When people come to visit the shelter I try really hard to show them how friendly I am and let them know how much I want to come home with them, but most times they just pass me by to look at younger dogs.  But what they don’t know is that older dogs can be even better pets because we are already house trained, don’t cause mischief and will be forever grateful that we were rescued from our shelter cage and given a chance in your home.  Remember, I was once a cute little puppy too!

Even though I’ve had bad luck with finding a forever home, I still hold out hope that someone might love me one day and I watch the door carefully every time someone comes in to visit and think that maybe this time its going to be the person that I’ve been waiting for to take me with them.  Please come to meet me and maybe you can be my long awaited forever home!  When I see you come through the door, I promise if you just give me a chance and stop at my cage for awhile you’ll love me, but not as much as I’ll love you for rescuing me from my shelter cage.
