Featured Adoptable Pet: Midnight

Midnight is one of my more special cats at the shelter because she is having a tough time getting adopted, but through no fault of her own.  Judging by her shy and distrustful reactions, I would guess that she was either abused or neglected before she came to our shelter.  And for Midnight, unfortunately this means she makes a bad first impression when adopters come to look at cats. 

But if you give her some time, she warms up in her own time, but that's the thing, she needs a special owner to give her that chance, and most people don't want to deal with the extra work involved in teaching this sweet girl to trust and love.  

I've been trying to work with her to socialize her more, but she really needs an understanding owner that can spend much more time with her.  She has the potential to be a great pet, if she can find a special owner with a big heart, patience and understanding.  Someone that sees through the tough exterior to a scared cat inside that just needs to be shown what love and trust is.

If you know of anyone patient and with a big heart, with no other cats in their home, who is willing to work with Midnight to overcome her distrust, please share this. She deserves a chance.

She needs to be rescued soon so she can feel love in a warm and loving home.  Life is all about second chances, and Midnight deserves one.
