Featured Adoptable Pet: Cannoli

Cannoli was born at the shelter after her pregnant mother was abandoned in a cat carrier at town hall! Her mother and siblings have all been adopted awhile ago, she still waits for her forever home.

MY STORY:

I’d like to introduce myself to you! My name is Cannoli and I was born at the shelter, after my pregnant mother was found crammed into a small cat carrier with three others cats and abandoned at town hall! Thankfully we were all given a second chance at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter, and my mother and all of my siblings have been adopted into great homes awhile ago, but for some reason I still wait. I’ve been at the shelter for such a long time watching people pass me by and I just don’t understand why since I’m a good cat, have a really fun personality, very playful and well behaved; you can easily tell I’m a clown by my silly pose for this picture! Yet I’m still waiting here for someone to notice me just once and think that maybe I’m worth giving a chance, instead of that other cat in the cage next to mine.

All the shelter staff and volunteers love me and say that I would make the perfect pet and even they don’t understand why I’ve been overlooked all this time. They tell me that there are a lot of cats to choose from. They do their best to comfort me and love me and tell me there is no reason for a good kitty like me to still be waiting here for a home, but I still feel sad because all I know how to do is wait and hope to be able to feel love in a forever home, not in a shelter. When people come to visit the shelter I try really hard to show them how friendly I am and let them know how much I want to come home with them, but most times they just pass me by to look at kittens.

Even though I’ve been so lonely and bored in my shelter cage for what seems like forever, I still hold out hope that someone might love me one day and I watch the door carefully every time someone comes in to visit and think that maybe this time it's going to be the person that I’ve been waiting for to take me with them. Please come to meet me and maybe you can be my long-awaited forever home! When I see you come through the door, I promise if you just give me a chance and stop at my cage for awhile you’ll love me, but not as much as I’ll love you for rescuing me from my shelter cage.
