Uniqlo to Open in Wayne This September

Japanese clothing store is expanding in the US.

A Japanese clothing company that opened its first US stores in New Jersey nine years ago is coming to Wayne.

Uniqlo is planning to open a location at the Willowbrook Mall this September as part of a seven-store expansion in the tri-state area and California over the next few months, the clothing brand announced in a release on its website last week.

According to the post, the Wayne store will open on September 19.

Currently, there are 20 Uniqlo locations in the US, including one at the Garden State Plaza. The expansion into Wayne will be a precursor to the brand’s move into new US markets later in the year, like Philadelphia, Boston and Los Angeles, the company said.

“As we continue our expansion in the US, we’re excited to offer more shopping opportunities to our loyal fan base who look to us to provide great clothing that is comfortable, fun and designed to effortlessly complement those wearing it,” Larry Meyer, CEO of UNIQLO USA and Fast Retailing Group Senior Vice President, said in the release.
