Quick Chek to Open on Pompton Road This Month

Quick Chek will open its Pompton Road location on Oct. 29.

The 6,300-square foot store is located just before the William Paterson University campus.

The company expects the store to create 35 to 50 new jobs. Most of the employees will be local residents, some of whom will probably be students attending William Paterson. The store will be open 24 hours and feature an eight-pump gas station.

“This new store allows us to better serve the market and provide our customers with more food and fueling options in the area,” said company CEO Dean Durling.

NJBIZ magazine named Quick Chek Corp. one of the Best Places to work in New Jersey this year.

The addition of the store opening comes on the heels of Haier American’s announcement that it will move its United States headquarters to Valley Road along with 500 jobs.

The announcements come weeks after officials introduced a plan to encourage more commercial and mixed-use development in town. Officials want to stabilize the tax base and bolster the local economy with a sweeping redevelopment plan.

A plan to construct a new building at the Wayne Town Center was approved by the Planning Board Tuesday. It is unknown how many jobs that facility will bring to town.
