Opening of Wayne Ice Cream Bar Delayed

The new version of the Old Barn Milk Bar will open at the earliest in July, if it receives final town approvals soon, report says.

The new Old Barn Milk Bar in Wayne might not become a reality this summer, according to a NorthJersey.com report.

The owner, Richard Lauretta, is awaiting town approval of the business’s building plans, the report said. Though he had initially hoped to open the ice cream bar at the corner of Colfax Road and Terhune Drive by the beginning of the summer, he told NorthJersey.com that the earliest he could open now is late July, if he receives the approval soon.

The town council did recently approve the restaurant’s ability to serve food outside, the report said.

Lauretta told the paper that construction will begin on the new establishment as soon as it is approved, and that it will be reminiscent of the Old Barn Milk Bar on Hamburg Turnpike that closed in 2001.
