Appliance Company Plans Move to Wayne HQ This Summer

Haier is currently renovating a Valley Road building that will house the company's current and expanding staff, report says.

Haier, an international electronics and appliance company, is renovating a Valley Road building in Wayne that will become its new American headquarters this summer or fall, twice.com reported.

According to the report, the company - which makes refrigerators, TVs, air conditioners, and other appliances - is planning to open the new HQ during the third quarter of this year. Haier is currently building out a vacant 56,000 square foot facility at 1800 Valley Road, the report said.

The facility will eventually be home to “current staff with room for future expansion,” the report said.

“As Haier continues to develop our footprint across the Americas, we believe it is important to establish a facility that is ready for the expansion,” President and CEO if Haier America Adrian Micu told twice.com.

“We are building an organization better suited to support our customers and consumers through a more holistic consumer-centric approach and the new facility will foster this collaboration.”

News broke last year that the company planned to relocate from Manhattan to Wayne without receiving any tax breaks. The company is expected to bring about 500 employees to the township.
