Work by PSE&G will close Ratzer Road between Garside Avenue and Hamburg Turnpike for at least two days next week. Large trucks and special equipment are needed on site while crews work.
PSE&G will replace utility poles on that section of Ratzer Road beginning Monday, Oct. 28. Work will be completed no later than Thursday, Oct. 31.
PSE&G hopes to complete the work by Tuesday but has budgeted an extra two days in just case.
Residents should plan extra time for traveling on Ratzer Road and the nearby streets.
Detours will be established. Police officers will be placed at the following intersections to keep traffic flowing and alleviate congestion:
- Ratzer Road and Garside Avenue
- Garside Avenue and Preakness Avenue
- Preakness Avenue and Oldham Road
- Oldham Road and Hamburg Turnpike
- Ratzer Road and Rock Road
Residents on Rock Road and Birch Lane will be permitted access to Ratzer Road, but can only proceed to Hamburg Turnpike.
