Car Flips Over On Hamburg Turnpike

Driver suffered non-life threatening injures.

A man sustained non-life threatening injuries in a single-car crash on Hamburg Turnpike Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The Dodge Dart the man was driving crashed into a traffic light near the Wedgewood Shopping Plaza and came to rest on its side. The traffic light was on the ground in pieces next to the vehicle. Part of the vehicle's roof was torn off. Glass and debris were strewn across the road.

A woman reported hearing a loud bang and then a crash before coming out of her apartment to see what happened.

Police are still investigating what caused the accident, Sgt. Joseph Duncan said at the scene. Authorities were trying to determine the man’s identity Tuesday afternoon.

The accident delayed traffic on Hamburg for part of the afternoon.
