The township’s two public high schools received As as part of a new formula used by “Inside Jersey,” a magazine staffed and produced by The Star-Ledger.
The publication compared the last four years of scores of the state’s High School Proficiency Assessment tests for language arts and math and added weighted SAT scores.
Test scores rank the schools using one of four indicators: A,B,C, or D.
Wayne Hills and Wayne Valley each earned an A, meaning they had “above average scores” and “below average growth.”

2008 HSPA: 338.6, 2012 HSPA: 351.3. 3.8 percent increase
SAT Scores: 1,583
2008 HSPA: 328.6, 2012 HSPA: 340.5. 3.6 percent increase
