William Paterson Station Honors Z100 Host Elvis Duran

The station in Wayne presented Durn with the 'Bravery in Radio' award live on his NYC radio show.

William Paterson University honored Z100 morning talk show host Elvis Duran with the school’s 2014 “Bravery in Radio Award,” presented to the broadcaster live on the air last week, allaccess.com reported.

According to the report, Professor Rob Quicke, who acts as General Manager for WPSC, the college’s student-run radio station, appeared on Elvis Duran’s morning show Friday to present him with the award.

“Elvis is a broadcaster who creates undeniably compelling morning radio that is unafraid to address serious topics and go to places that other shows will not go,” Quicke said in the report.

“Elvis is very much an authentic broadcaster who truly connects with his listeners.”

According to the report, Duran graciously accepted the award, saying on air, “I’m honored and flattered and humbled, I appreciate this very much. I’ve been doing radio since I was 14 years old -- and I turn 50 this year! I have been doing radio for a long, long time! Thanks so much.”
