Run-D.M.C. Rapper, Wayne Resident Blasts Hip Hop Musicians

Darryl McDaniels said that hip-hop artists don't take responsibility for their music.

Run-D.M.C. rapper and Wayne resident Darryl McDaniels has blasted hip-hop musicians, accusing them of popularizing gun and drug culture.

McDaniels told Britain’s Metro newspaper that modern hip-hop musicians don’t take responsibility for their music.

“Stupid America celebrates a person that says: ‘Yeah, I’m a drug dealer. I’m brining the drugs into the hood’,” McDaniels said.

“The reason why hip hop exists is because it started out with good intention, once all the good intentions left the music became polluted, it became disrespectful it became immature.”
