RSVP FOR COMEDY NIGHT

We know it as the winter doldrums. or the winter blues, or the winter blahs.  Well, don’t become doldrummed!!  Don’t let those cold nights turn you blue.  Blahs – Begone!  Take the cure with Shomrei Torah’s Comedy Night featuring three of the most popular comedians seen at the most popular NYC clubs and Las Vegas casinos – and all without fighting traffic or paying tolls, exorbitant parking rates, and minimum purchases!  And what a great Chanukah or Christmas gift!  The fun starts at 30 Hinchman Avenue, Wayne, NJ at 7:30 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012 with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and ends with a 50/50 and desserts.  In between, enjoy the antics of:

Johnny Lampert, considered one of the premiere comedians in the country, is a regular at NYC’s and LA’s best comedy clubs and has made numerous TV appearances on such shows as MTV’s “Spring Break,” A&E’s “Caroline's Comedy Hour,” NBC’s “Friday Night,” HBO “Comedy Showcase,” and Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend.”  Johnny’s wildly successful appearances at Montreal’s “Just for Laughs” Festival led to his being named “Best Act” by The Montreal Gazette as well as his signing of a sitcom deal with Walt Disney Television.  Johnny was also honored when, not one, but two of his routines were chosen for inclusion in the soon to be released book, “The Best Comedy Routines, Period.”  Says Punchline magazine, “Johnny is a rarity in stand-up comedy by not only having great material, but also top notch delivery.  If you want to get technical, he creates some form of a rare trifecta by also being likable with every-man qualities to him.”

Brad Trackman headlines include "DC Improv," Helium Comedy Club (Philadelphia) "The Improv" (Las Vegas), "Hilarities" (Cleveland), and the legendary "Punchline" (San Francisco).  What makes Brad such a unique comedian?  It's his versatility and his ability to work squeaky clean and still kill.  Maybe that's why "Radio Shack" had Trackman headline the "Net Together Concert" in Times Square with a 20-foot tall jumbotron behind him and a crowd of 5,000 people in front.  Brad has opened for Dana Carvey, Joan Rivers and Weird Al Yankovic in arenas with crowds of up to 7,000.  His TV credits include NBC's "Later" and "Friday Night," CBS's "Star Search," ABC's "NY Comedy Festival,” "Metro TV's "New Joke City with Robert Klein," Comedy Central's "Heroes of Jewish Comedy & Stand Up Stand Up" and MTV's "The Buried Life."

Tom McTiernan, another of the East Coast’s best comedians, has performed at Comic Strip Live, The Gotham Comedy Club, and The World Famous Improv.  On television, Tom has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Stand, Up Stand Up” and NBC’s “Friday Night.”  In Atlantic City and Las Vegas, Tom has opened for numerous acts including Tom Jones, Bill Cosby, and Blood Sweat and Tears.  Newsday calls Tom "one of the sharpest comics in New York," saying "his comedy is very funny, intelligent and good natured, someone you will be hearing a lot about."

Tickets are $36 per person.  RSVP ASAP to 973-696-2500 or email office@shomreitorahwcc.org.  Checks made payable to Shomrei Torah should be mailed to 30 Hinchman Avenue, Wayne, NJ 07470.   For more information, check out the synagogue's website at www.ShomreiTorahWCC.org and become a fan on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wayne-NJ/Shomrei-Torah/59045792352).
