KADIMA CAPERS for 6th, 7th & 8th GRADERS

Coming off of its mini-sukkah building contest and its Mitzvah Day clean-up of Camp Veritans, the next event for Shomrei Torah’s Kadima Youth Group for 6th, 7th  and 8th graders is an Israeli night!  On Sunday, November 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Shomrei Torah located at 30 Hinchman Avenue, Wayne, Kadimaniks will be playing games and joining in activities all related to Israel.  Youth Group Advisor Marissa Merker promises a “great time” for all.  Membership in Shomrei Torah is not necessary for a youngster to belong to its Kadima Chapter.

December 9-10th REGIONAL KADIMA SHABBATON! The Shabbaton is for ALL Kadima Members in Shomrei Torah's Region (Hagalil). There will be TONS of 6-8th graders at this event. It's an opportunity to meet new people and reconnect with people you might know from camp! It is an overnight in Teaneck filled with fun activities to enjoy with so many other middle schoolers.

Kadima, which is the Hebrew word for “forward,” has chapters and regions throughout the world.  Local activities include sports and games, arts and crafts, bowling, leadership activities, community service projects, fun ways to celebrate Jewish holidays, and much more.  The goal is to inspire Jewish youth to explore, celebrate and practice ethical values, Jewish life, and community responsibility.

Shomrei Torah belongs to the Northern New Jersey Hagalil Region which has some forty-eight chapters.  In addition to the local activities, all Kadima members can attend regional conventions, dances, and athletics and just about every other kind of social, educational, charitable, cultural, artistic, and religious activity imaginable.
