New Executive Director Named at YMCA

Tony Ceresoli will focus on increasing membership at the facility.

Tony Ceresoli is the new executive director of the Wayne YMCA.

Ceresoli has worked at YMCAs in North Carolina, Florida, and Massachusetts. A press release states that Ceresoli will work on increasing the number of members who join the facility.

“The Y offers so many community benefits, such as free second grade swim lessons,” Ceresoli said in the release. “From after school care to summer camp to sports and wellness [programs], the Y offers something for everyone.”

The move is the latest in an attempt to breathe new life into the 36-year-old facility, which was known as the YM-YWHA of North Jersey since it moved to Wayne in 1976. The facility partnered with the Metro YMCA of the Oranges in 2011 to revamp the services it offers.

“We are excited to have Tony on our team,” Richard Gorab, president and CEO of Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges, said in the press release. “I am confident that he will bring more programs and services to the Wayne community and, at the same time, increase the Y’s ability to financially assist those individuals and families who need our services most.”
