Weekend Things: Celebrate the 4th of July with the Family

This weekend there are many celebrations to celebrate Independence Day in and around Wayne.

Grasshopper Too “Raw” Deal

Where/When: Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3 from noon until 4 p.m. at Grasshopper Too, 26 Erie Ave in Wayne.

Why Go: Special deal on Clams and Draft Beer. $1.50 Drafts at bar only and $5 for clams (steamed, raw, or stuffed).

Fireworks and Picnic

Where/When: Sunday, July 3 from noon at Clifton High School located at 333 Colfax Ave. in Clifton.

Why Go: There will be a picnic beginning at noon until 6 p.m. at Memorial Park. The gates to the high school will open at 7 p.m. and fireworks will begin at dusk. Tickets are required, for tickets please call 973-470-5757.

Pricing: $3.

July Fourth Celebration in Lincoln Park

Where/When: Monday, July 4 starting at 6 p.m., fireworks begin at 9 p.m. at 503 West Pine Brook Road in Lincoln Park. The Jerry & Dolores Turco Medical Rehab Center celebrates the 4th of July along with their third year anniversary.

Why Go: There will be a Lady Gaga impersonator, carnival games, costumed character review a DJ and fun for the kids with a ginat slide, face painting, rock climbing, hula-hoop contest and jungle bounce. There will be food available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs and parking at municipal building will have shuttles to bring you over every half hour. July Fourth Street Fair in Little Falls

Where/When: Monday, July 4 starting at 10 a.m. at Main Street and Stevens Ave. in Little Falls.

Why Go: There will be several vendors, a crafter’s corner, food, pony rides, petting zoo, live entertainment, games and more. The children can enjoy bounce & slide, sand art, temporary tattoos, face painting and more.

Pricing: Free.

Open Mic

Where/When: Sunday, July 3 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at The Fine Grind, 101 Newark Pompton Tpke in Little Falls.

Why Go: This is for all musicians, lovers of music, poets, and even comedians. Open mic night is hosted by The TuTones, Pete DeMaio and Leny Nigro.

Pricing: $5

“Fine Tuned In The Afternoon”

Where/When: Saturday, July 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Fine Grind, 101 Newark Pompton Tpke in Little Falls.

Why Go:  Live music will be played by Doug Hedge.
