Sophia Bustios' family runs avocado farm in Peru.

Sophia Bustios, a second-grader at Lafayette Elementary School, recently traveled to the Andes mountains in Peru to visit family and learned what life is like in that country.

Bustios’ family grows organic avocados on a farm in the town of Matalaque.

Bustios learned first hand what life on the farm is like. She woke up at 4:30 a.m., worked all day, and went to bed at 6:30 p.m.
