'Live Well Age Well' Expo in Wayne Monday

Event includes health screenings, demos, info sessions, and giveaways.

The following was submitted to Patch by the Wayne Department of Health. 

The Information Network on Aging, the Wayne Health Department and the Wayne YMCA are pleased to offer a free “Live Well, Age Well” event on Monday, May 19, from 9am to 12noon, at the Wayne YMCA, 1 Pike Drive, Wayne. All are welcome. It is not necessary to be a Wayne resident or a member of the YMCA to attend.

The event is for adult children and their senior loved ones who want to learn about resources and options available to them for successful and healthy aging. Free health screenings, demonstrations and informative exhibits offered include: Blood pressure, balance (10am to 11am), nutrition, exercise, organizing, estate planning, giveaways, and more. Free day passes will be given out by the Wayne YMCA and light refreshments will be available. Refreshments donated by Shop-Rite Supermarkets.

Vaccinations will be made available by the Wayne Health Department for a fee. The vaccinations require pre-registration and include: Shingles Vaccination (for 60+) for a fee of $175 and Pneumonia Vaccination costing $25. To pre-register, call 973-694-1800 extension 3374 or 3373.
