Stop & Shop Introduces Caroline's Cart in New Pompton Plains, NJ Store

To help ease the grocery shopping experience for parents with special needs children, the new Stop & Shop in Pompton Plains, NJ has introduced Caroline’s Cart at its store located at 500 Route 23 North.  Created specifically for special needs children, Caroline’s Cart provides parents and caregivers with a viable option to transport their child through the grocery store, without simultaneously having to maneuver both a wheelchair and a traditional grocery cart. This is the first Stop & Shop in the New York Metro area to offer Caroline’s Cart.

“We’re thrilled to be able to introduce Caroline’s Cart to our new store,” said Bill Diffin, store manager. “It is our hope that this effort will make it easier for parents or caregivers of special needs children to bring them to the store and allow them to enjoy a trip down their favorite aisle, something that may have been difficult without  Caroline’s Cart.”

Named after Caroline, the special needs daughter of Drew Ann and David Long, Drew Ann saw the need for Caroline’s Cart after realizing her daughter would outgrow a typical shopping cart. She founded Parent Solution Group, LLC, designed the cart, applied for a patent and enlisted the services of legal and business professionals to help her bring the cart to market.
