Newark Pompton Turnpike was closed between Black Oak Ridge Road and Packanack Lake Road Wednesday due to a water main break.
The break occurred Wednesday morning at about 9 a.m.. Work crews were on scene Wednesday morning attempting to fix the damage.
Heather Fitz-Del Rio, the township's water and sewer superintendent, could not be reached for comment.
