Volunteers Needed to Help Create Community Garden

Sign up for volunteers will be held on Monday. Work is scheduled to begin in early April.

Residents can sign up to help create the township’s first community garden at the municipal building on Monday, Feb. 25 at 10 a.m.

Volunteers are needed to help create the garden on April 5, 6, and 7 beginning at 8 a.m.

The garden project, spearheaded by sustainability advocate and resident Victor Alfieri, will give residents the chance to grow fresh, organic vegetables and flowers without the use of pesticides.

The garden will be located at the Van Riper-Hopper House museum on Berdan Avenue.

Alfieri successfully fought and won a court case to keep hens on his property. He is also heading up a project to help the local bat population thrive.

For more information, visit Alfieri’s website.

What is involved ? Does it entail physical labor ? Are tools or other resources needed?

If you can do physical labor that would be great.
We would need a positive attitude, shovels, wheel barrels, and power drills.
I will bring everything else.

Count me out, every time I try planting something organic the cops show up. On the other-hand, I never tried the lawn right in front of the court house.

Well aware of the grammar, however, we are speaking about your deductive reasoning, so why would you ask me who the next mayor will be? I have no idea. But I'm sure your deductive, Nosey powers will enlighten us.

They should change the name of Wayne Patch to Wayne Rant. I certainly am as guilty as anybody when it comes to ranting about something.

Nose...I would like to see a debate between our Mayor and this new Mayoral candidate. You certainly have to give this woman some credit for jumping into a venture such as this.
