No center divider, no expanded roadway, open access , no restrictions on turning in many areas, speeds routinely in excess of 50MPH, no shoulder, it is not hard to see why this is one of the most dangerous roads around.

Scondo, I hope you aren't 't suggesting we need a concrete barrier down the middle of Valley Rd? A town that struggles for a small town feel and wishes for a Main Street USA, Valley Rd is closest it has offer. Then again not how many Main Streets USA have a posted speed limit of 45mph with cars routinely traveling 60 mph. That with no shoulders, pedestrians, residences with driveways and cars trying to back out onto, schools and churches up and down. You want to know why you never see radar traps on this road, probably because with Town Hall smack dab in the middle the people to be nabbed would be our prestigious township officials. This road needs to have its sped limit dropped to 30mph and have it strictly enforced. It also should have its traffic pattern changed to single lanes each way with a center turning lane. That pattern has proven to work on Berdan Ave, Hamburg Tpke and Valley Rd extension.. No reason it couldn't work on the main section of Valley Rd. I understand this is a county road and I would hope Freeholder Bartlett recognizes how dangerous Valley Rd has become and uses his influence to make some change here. I would also look for the Mayor and Council to take some action rather than passing the buck and blaming the Democratic County Freeholders.

When was the last time you saw our town or county police have radar on Valley Road, Hamburg Turnpike or Berdan Avenue ? I NOSE why ? They are to busy making extra money directing traffic at the construction site on Hamburg Turnpike.

I have lived on Preakness Ave. for the past nine years and there has been numerous accidents and incidents and it should be on the list of dangerous wayne roads too!

Dana, you must live by the "killer S bends". If you look at the guardrail by Garside, the county never fixed it because it has been hit to many times so they put orange plastic barrels there instead. Can't understand why the house is for sale ?
