Flu and Pneumonia Shots Offered Tuesday in Wayne

Shots are free for Medicare Part B participants.

 

The Wayne Health Department is offering flu and pneumonia vaccinations Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m..

The vaccinations will be administered at the health department.

Flu vaccines will cost $15. Pneumonia vaccines will cost $25.

Flu vaccines are free for residents who have Medicare Part B and who are not enrolled in an HMO.

Pneumonia vaccines are also free for Medicare Part B participants who are receiving one for the first time. Medicare will only pay for one vaccination in a person's lifetime.

Medicare Part B participants must bring a identification card to receive the vaccine free of charge.

Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome.
