Support Group Created for Siblings of Special Needs Students
Special Parent Association, school district team up to help elementary- and middle school-aged students.
A new support program designed to help siblings of special needs students will meet for the first time later this month.
The Wayne Special Parents Association and the school district's Department of Student Support Services created the program.
The free program will be for siblings of students with disabilities in grades three through eight. A psychotherapist will facilitate the meetings.
The program will be held at the Giggles and Grow Preschool, 99 Parish Drive. The first session is scheduled for Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.
Parents need to sign permission slips and return them to the Office of Student Support Services at the district's headquarters on Nellis Drive. (A permission slip has been attached to this article.)
