Are you serious? A 2% cut in the inflated budget should not effect any thing. Its all scare tactics by a fraud for a president. All this guy wants to do is raise taxes and spend money like crazy.

$2.4 MILLION ? Get rid of half the administrators you put on recently and you can save that money without effecting the teachers or children.

The 11.7 million in potentially lost aid equates to about 18k on average to each school district in NJ. This is if my number of 650 public school districts is correct. I'm not quite sure of that number. We all know that the distribution is not made equally, as the urban districts get much much more than we suburban districts. In today's paper, I believe it said that Governor Christie wants to increase State school aid by 97 million which could equate to an additional 149k in aid per district , which it apparently will not be due to the distribution to urban districts. This is an election year with the Governor on top of the ticket. Hopefully that will bring in a bit more State aid to our district. Anything over last year's aid of 3.8 million would be great. Anything less,would be extremely disappointing.

Al, you will never see the "suburban" districts get more than the "urban" districts. Who do you thinks pays for the urban districts ? You and I in our suburban district.

Wayne, way to much fat at the top of the budget. Dean of Students ? Asst. Dean of Students ? And list goes on. We had the same amount of kids as today when I went to school and since then ALL these "titles" have been added to the budget without any reason why we need these positions ? What do these people do a principal doesn't do ? And all for "six figures" ? Hope I addressed your comment and last time I checked, everyone seems to be cutting back except our BOE (BRING ON EVERYONE).

This goes back a few years, but as we get new administrators, they don't want to stir up the hen house so they leave the chickens alone.

I just paid a visit to the State Report Card for the 2010/2011 Wayne Hills High School Year. Two items were glaring:
12.9% Students with Disabilities??? Is this a true number or trumped up in order that certain administrators keep their positions?
1.1% Limited English Proficient? In Wayne??? Again, is this a true number?
We are talking Wayne Hills (Pines Lake, Vizcaya, Urban Club). I would like to know who these students are.

Nose. I wasn't certain about that. Next question : Property Taxes for BOE need to be adjusted by the 18,000 or so per student that requires this extra. The wave of prior immigrants assimilated and learned English through tutors, tv, churches, etc. I personally know of many such immigrants. Immigration used to demand an Affidavit of Support from a.US citizen prior to being allowed to set foot on our soil. No government welfare or English as a second language. We are struggling and do not want to out right pay for these students. Get the money back from welfare or call ICE. Period. End of Burden.

Jack Q. Have you ever been around immigrants? Have you ever been around immigrants who pretend to not understand English? Have you ever worked with immigrants who openly call Americans, "amerikaans" and make fun of them, calling them soft and lazy? Have you ever worked in an establishment where you or your child is pushed out of a minimum wage job, only to be replaced by immigrants who punch the clock under several names in order that there is no violation of labor laws? Have you or a child been requested to pick up "workers" from a hotel/motel housing immigrants at an unsafe person per square footage and take them to work only to be later pushed out for "lack of work"? When you can answer yes to any of those questions, then you are allowed to make your snide remark, only after further questions.

These immigrants are not the same as the immigrants who built this country and assimilated. Granted there is the exception to every statement. I have a long list of immigrants who died fighting for the United Stated during the Vietnam Conflict. There is also a long list of immigrants who are in the military for the express purpose of assimilating and becoming US citizens. There are many exceptions; but I doubt those exceptions are also taking welfare or Section 8 housing. Unless of course, they need it as a temporary help to get on their feet. (another exception). Again, in the fiftes, an immigrant could not set foot on US soil without an Affidavit of Support. They were returned to the country they came from. Visit Ellis Island when you have the chance. There is a huge difference.

Hey Jack, my grandfather came to this country with pennies in his pocket and didn't speak a word of english. He got a job right away and learned english. He had a family he took care of and worked well into his seventies building most of the historic buildings you see today in Paterson. And NEVER asked or collected a dime from this country. So don't ASSUME anything, because you seem to be the only one ASSuming here.

Mr Gonzalez should start making some big cuts in the overinflated BOE budget. Enrollment is dropping and I am sure there is a lot of fat on the administrative side that could be cut. Did they really need a "CONE OF SILENCE ROOM" built inside the BOE building? They need to really stop excessive spending until better times come back. Wayne Township is soon going to find itself in a terrible fianancial situation. Many top school districts in NJ get by with 0% increase in thier budget and many are rated much higher then Wayne. The taxpayers pockets aren't the BOE's private piggy bank.

Pad, and that is only the tip of the iceberg. Would like to NOSE how much the renovation cost to the administration building after Gonzalez and his buddies remodeled it ? And it was just renovated after the last superintendent. Does anyone remodel their house that often ?
