Students from Theunis Dey Elementary School recently received the Promising Practices Award from the Character Education Partnership (CEP) for their Celebrating Our Planet program.
Students on the school’s Go Green Team formed a committee to increase awareness of the environment to their peers.
The committee, with the help of teachers, created a community garden and an outdoor classroom to be used by all classes at the school.
The students also held a Party for the Planet. They provided information to parents and their peers on a variety of environmental subjects.
