CDM Institute's Abrupt Closing Under Investigation
Facility shut down without warning this week. The school offers training in a variety of fields, including accounting and health care.
The state is investigating the sudden closing of the CDM Institute on Galesi Drive, NorthJersey.com reported Friday.
The school shut down this week without explanation, the website reported. Students said they found out about the closing when they went to the school Wednesday night and found the doors locked.
The 22-year-old Wayne school is part of a network of career schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The school offers training in accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, and health care.
A phone number listed for the institute was still active Friday night but the school’s website was not working.
Students expressed their frustration on message boards Friday night. Some said they lost thousands of dollars in tuition.
“Now I am stuck with a $7,000 loan,” said one poster who was attending the school since November 2012. “I am unemployed, without a certificate and have to owe all of this money back.”
A representative from the institute could not be reached for comment.

Many, many of these "trade schools" are nothing but shills for transferring money from rainbow seeking consumers-- to owners, via the government loans that students are encouraged to burden themselves with for the future.

CDM's owner and chairman, is Mark L. Miller and his wife Missi Miller. Looks like they live in Marlton, NJ where another one of their institutes closed abruptly yesterday. But I'd check South America, or the Cayman Islands or somewhere.

Listen I was a recent former employee of Cdm ... I was smart enough to jump ship when my check bounced a few months back. Mark nd missy are listed as Marlton natives but have moved their residence to Fla. near Ft Lauderdale nd believe it or not they are trying to start a new business under their sons name mark Daniel miller jr. !
Cdm screwed employees of 10+ yrs out of payroll as well as employment and students out of money and education ... Ppl/business owners like this should never be able to own, operate, or participate in business ever again!
I witnessed first hand their snatch and grab method of business ... Snatch nd grab as much state nd private money as possible... Put as Lil staff effort and care into the product ... Only problem is the product were real human lives !!!
Goodluck to any and all affected by this !

It's interesting because I was actually going to attend this trade school during the summer but I ended up moving.... They never reimbursed me, I just recently got back in the Vineland nj area and tried to go to see what was going on with my refund being I called the summer I left and was promised to have a check for my reimbursement.... When I arrived at CDM of Vineland the place was closed, yet it still had computers Etc... I knew the company was having financial issues when I was never refunded... Unfortunate for this owner he will have the law under his ass... You can't cheat many people out of money and get away with it....
