Sibling Support Group Meets for the First Time Wednesday
Group is designed to help siblings of special needs students.
A new support group for siblings of special needs students will meet for the first time this week.
The group is designed for children in third thorugh eighth grade. It is set up so children can freely express what they are a feelings and experiencing in a group setting.
The group will hold its first meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Giggles and Grow Preschool.
Jamie LaRusso, a licensed professional counselor and mother of three children, including one with special needs, will facilitate the meetings.
The group is a collaborative effort between the Wayne Public School District and the Wayne Council of Parent Teacher Organization's Special Parents Association.
Parents need to sign permission slips and return them to the Office of Student Support Services at the district's headquarters on Nellis Drive. (A permission slip has been attached to this article.)
