Reward Offered In Packanack Lake Vandalism

Group offering $2,500 for conviction of gazebo vandals.

 

The Angler's Club at Packanack Lake is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever vandalized a gazebo built as a memorial to past anglers.

The gazebo, which stood at Osborne Park, sustained significant damage overnight between Thursday and Friday.

Anyone with information can call the Packanack Lake club office at 973-694-0094 or the Wayne Police at 973-633-3544.

I don't either. A lot of time, money and effort went into this gazebo and I think it's disguisting that someone thought to do this. This is not mischief, this is outright vandalism. I, for one, can't even imagine how the perpetrators did this without a backhoe. Several people were definitely involved based on the damage. The club had to take it down altogether, as the damage was so bad. Very sad. I hope that whoever did this is punished to the full extent of the law.
