Modell's has been voted the best place to purchase sporting goods by Wayne residents.
The store received six votes in our poll. Sports Authority and Game Day Sports came in second and third place, respectively.
The national sporting goods and appral chain was founded in 1889. The first store was located in Manhattan. According to the chain's Web site, there are more than 150 Modell's stores throughout the Northeastern United States.
The Modell's store in Wayne is located in the Brentwood Plaza shopping center on Route 23 South. The store is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The store joins H&R Block, A&P, Grasshopper Too, TapHouse Grille, KinderCare at Wayne, and Positano Pizzeria and Restaurant.
