Why do so many people want to sell their houses and leave Wayne? Is it that their property taxes keep going up each year under Vergano and before him by his teammate Rumana?

This article should show how many houses went up for sale each week, how mny are on the market and how many are in foreclosure. Almost everyone who moves out of Wayne that I know stated the number one reason they moved was the high taxes here. I recently was asked by a couple with two childre where I live, I responded Wayne. They then stated they wanted to live in Wayne but the taxes were too high. They settled in Pompton Plains. They stated the school system is excellent there. They then asked how I afford paying the taxes here. The Governing board and the BOE is destroying this Township with thier constant spending and hiring. When they wake up it will be too late. People are winning tax appeals left and right so we all along have been being charged too much. They need to bring the assessed values in line with the current values and stop all the appeals and loss of tax revenue. It seems the Mayor and the dinosaurs on the Council are oblivious to the taxpayers plight when it comes to taxes. What do you expect from a Township that didn't even open a shelter for its residents when major flooding occurred and they knew it ws coming. Thier "Holier Than Thou" attitude has to change. Did you ever see thier attitude during a meeting with taxpayers when they are confronted over issues? They are always on the defensive and have a "I Could Care Less Attitude". In November the incumbents should be voted out esp. the Mayor.
